Obituary of Floyd J. Frye, Jr.

DEXTER, NY – Floyd J. Frye, Jr., 71, of Evans Road, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Arrangements have been entrusted to North Country Cremation Service, owned and operated by Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY.

Floyd was born on January 23, 1946 in Watertown, NY to Floyd and Hilda Schweitzer-Frye. He graduated General Brown High-School with a GED. After school, he worked at New York Air Brake and various other jobs.

Floyd and Shirley Wilmer-Goodrich started their life together in 1983 and married in 1993; they shared 24 wonderful years of marriage together.

Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and his prize-winning garden won lots of first place prizes and ribbons. He was a member of the Brownville American Legion.

Along with his wife, Shirley, Floyd is survived by his step-children; Yvonne Pulliam, Brownville, NY, Denise (Kathy) Duffany, Watertown, NY, Earl (Heather) Goodrich, Evans Mills, NY, his sister Karen Freeman Sacketts Harbor, his niece; Debbie (Alan) Burdick, Ellisburg, NY, great niece; Ashley (Doug) Walter, a great-great niece, seven step-grandchildren and four great step-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watertown SPCA located at 25056 Water St, Watertown, NY 13601.
