Obituary of Roger W. Averill

Edwards- A celebration of life for Roger W. Averill will be held on Thursday August 7th, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the home of Roger and Loretta Averill, 42 Old State Route 58 Edwards, NY with Rev. Rob Schirmer officiating. A reception will follow at the home. Burial will be held at a later date Mr. Averill passed away early Monday, August 04, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of North Country Cremation Service. Mr. Averill was born on October 07, 1939 in Edwards, the son of the late Silas and Marjory (O’Donnell) Averill. He graduated from General Brown High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. On June 27, 1959 he married Ms. Loretta Miller in Watertown. He worked as an electrician at the Newton Falls Paper Mill until his retirement. He was an avid hunter, loved trains and model train sets and enjoyed raising small life stock. He is surived by his wife Lorretta Averill,his son; Roger Averill of Lowville. his daughters; Lucinda LaFrance and her husband Andrew of Edwards, Michell Sovay and her companion Thomas Wimer, of Harrisville and Brandy Averill of Edwards. He is survived by ten grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Donations in Roger’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
