Obituary of Lucky L. Weir

GOUVERNEUR -- Lucky L. Weir, 67, of Gouverneur died at his home Thursday morning, Nov. 13, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence County. Lucky was born on July 7, 1947 in Gouverneur, the son of the late Stanley and Cecilia (Cook) Weir. He was a 1967 graduate of Gouverneur High School. On September 9, 1967 he married Linda L. Hendrick in Edwards. He worked for 45 years for Cives Steel Company in Gouverneur as a fitter and welder. He was a man of few words who loved to work. He was a great husband who loved his family. He very much enjoyed working on cars and puttering. He is survived by his wife Linda L. Weir and his daughters, Kimberly LaRock and her companion Joe Clement of Gouverneur, Michelle Weir of Gouverneur, Tammy House and her husband Michael of Gouverneur and Carrie Pearson of Watertown; two sisters, Ruth McConnell of Hermon and Florence Weir of Gouverneur; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters. In keeping with Lucky’s wishes there will be no funeral service or calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of North Country Cremation Service.
